Hi,
'tis quite easy:
Install Developer Tools from OS X CDs (maybe update to August 2002
version)
Grab the CoreAudioSDK at connect.apple.com (you'll need a free ADC
online membership from developer.apple.com)
Then, get into DSP coding at www.musicdsp.org (subscription to music
dsp mailing list is highly recommended)
Listen to this list and don't be shy asking questions.
You'll be better of with C/C++ than JAVA, not so much for ease but for
performance :-)
Cheers + welcome,
;) Urs

Hi to everyone out there,
I'm a programmer who is mostly comfortable with Java, but can program
in C and C++. I am also beginning to produce my own music on Logic
5.4. I want to start developing my own Audio Units to use as FX with
Logic. I'm not sure where the best place to start is. Do I code in
Java or should do it in C or C++. Also where do I go to see examples
of AU fx coded and is there any place where I can find some tutorials
on the subject. Any advice from experinced developers on getting
started in this field would be deeply appreciated.
Cheers
Johnny
