Serial Midi driver

Hello APPLE

I just read the mail about serial midi on the CoreAudio list.

Doug Wyatt that is working for APPLE a few months ago said that he will
add support of MTP in the Serial midi driver. This news calmed a lot of
Logic users.

There are still a lot of users using Serial Midi interface thru the
Gport and the Stealth ; solution that is very reliable and seems to have
more throughput than with USB (I have managed to get messages "SYS-EX too
fast" with my Studio 4 and a Emu Virtuoso 2000, with a USB Midi Emagic could
not reproduce this).

Moving to MAC OS X demands already a lot of $ because with most software
you have to buy upgrades !

A lot of musicians own 2 midi interfaces of 8 ports each, each costing
in Europe 500 USD, musicians are not rich, demanding them to put an extra
1000 USD to move to OS X IS A LOT. You do not want your favorite users to
move to PC !
The news of not supporting Logic for PC made a lot of Logic's users VERY
UNHAPPY and VERY ANGRY WITH APPLE. A lot of users have/are moved to Cubase
or to Cakewalk

Interim solution is to make a special offer, at 0 cost for you, to those
users.

As you own Emagic now it could be more easy.

In my case I cannot use with MAC OS X :
- my Apple Personal Laser writer 300
- my SCSI DVD/RAM.
- my Opcode studio 4 serial midi
- my Motu MTP serial midi
- I am waiting for the X driver for my Motu system (324+2048+1296+24i)

THIS IS TOO MUCH COST !

I have to keep switching from X to 9 (Pressing on X on boot or on ALT
does not work on my G4/533 MP)

Thanks in advance for making the serial midi driver work with OS X.
