Hi,

might be useful for some of you:

Now that I pretty much solved all the problems I initially had creating custom control objects, Apple released appropriate sample code. Grrr!!!

At developer.apple.com/samplecode/ there's a Human Interface Toolbox: HICustomPushButton dated October 4, 2002 and it describes about all what's needed for AudioUnit GUIs. There are also some hacks inside that the code I recently released doesn't sport.
