Second time lucky hopefully.
I think all the kinks have been worked out and the palette + framework
should
work happily on your system. (Thanks to Kurt for lots of useful tips).
Over the weekend I added an XY controller for all you knob haters :-)
Of course it
eats real estate like a pig but it's fun to play with.

There's an included a prebuilt version of the demo app that should
allow you to play with
the widgets without having to set up a build environment.
