I was about to refer you to our PortAudio tutorial and realized the Mac OS X
specific page was not linked! So I updated the web site and it is now
available.

For Mac OS X, I would recommend downloading the CVS snapshot of the
V18-patch from here:

http://www.portaudio.com/usingcvs.html

Look for "pa_snapshot_v18.tar.gz".

Then follow the tutorial here:

http://www.portaudio.com/docs/pa_tutorial.html

You should know that we are about to make some improvement to the PortAudio
implementation for Mac OS X. So stay tuned to the PortAudio list for
announcements of updates.

Also note that Mac OS X uses 32 bit floating point data in the audio drivers
so you might as well use paFloat32 format code.
