Oof, I think that if an AU needs to be compatible with VST fxp and fxb
files, then it should provide its own custom loader. It would be terrible
to sacrifice a very nice standard file format, and to require hosts to
learn how to load VST's settings format, just for that. Just put a load
button on your plugin and do it yourself if you want fxb/fxp, in my
opinion...
Your "chunk" data can still be identical (that's what I do, as well), but
it is put into a key/data pair with all of the other standard AU key/data
pairs.
