The problem is caused by having a controller value in QT that is not
recognized by QT - then this gets sent to the synth to render the note, but
the value is uninitialized - so its way over the top (usually!)
(If you can figure out which MIDI control value is being sent to the synth -
it will be a control number that is not declared in the QTMA.h file - then
you could disable those controller values, and you won't hear the vibrato)
We didn't find this until recently (if it had been found by others earlier
we didn't see any bugs or reports about it)...
We have a workaround fix for it and hope to have this available soon.
(BTW- Sound Font support has been available with CoreAudio since 10.0 (and
with QT 5) - but with each release we are getting it better...
