quicktime midi bug in jaguar

Hi . I am from off list and not a developer but maybe you can help me.
There is a an extremely annoying bug in quicktime 6 that fortunately only a small minority of users experience .
It occurs for me in the application Sibelius ( a music scoring and notation editor) when playing music into the editor via a midi instrument , which the editor then attempts to transcribe into notation . As you are playing in unwanted vibrato is added to notes as you play them .This vibrato is also added at times to playback . Although it seems you can switch this off through a control in Sibelius .
There is also a problem with unwanted reverb being added to sounds which again cannot be turned off .

All users of Jaguar and Sibelius are experiencing this as revealed on Sibelius chat pages. It was not present in X.1 and QuickTime 5 . Sibelius says this is a fault in quicktime 6 and Jaguar . I was really hoping that it would be fixed with an update but this has not happened with 2.1 update to Jaguar .

Despite the addition of soundfont capability in Jaguar (which is fantastic) I am now regretting updating to Jaguar as this bug really subtracts from a beautifully elegant piece of software which actually worked better under X.1 .

Can anyone on the list suggest a work around .

thanks David _______________________________________________
