Docs:)

We've just updated the SDK contents for Panther to include some useful things for this:
1. In Public Utility there's a utility file to print out the matrix mixer volumes - believe me, you will need this!
2. We've also added the demo that James did at WWDC
- this is quite neat - it gives you an app that has a couple of inputs, output, cross point volumes, metering on each point and (in a playful spirit) a way to randomise all the settings...

Sounds cool :-)
Will this revised SDK be available for individual download (possibly as a seed)? Or as a part of a dev tools pre-release?

We're in the process of doing docs, and will try to get the most pertinent information into the panther SDK. (or email possibly)

This matrix mixer looks quite interesting. But where can we find doc or header about it? I haven't installed last builds of Panther (my more recent build is 7A202 I think).

Hi Chris,

That's interesting and would certainly provide a solution. A *big* problem that I forgot to mention is that the Matrix mixer (and the improved Stereo mixer) is not available for Jaguar and I'm not sure I want to restrict a new product to Panther customers only.

I think the plan is actually to update these pieces on Jaguar systems as well - I can confirm this for you shortly

I'd recommend that you use the MM if at all possible - we spend alot of time optimisting this (and it also does metering :), and you can get both panning and down-mixing volumes from the AudioFormat API - all in all, it saves you alot of work
