Thanks for the reply.

Warning: I have been working with coreaudio for about two months now, so I know less than I think I do.

Presuming you have a driver (for example a DV device), you should see the device in the list of devices you can obtain audio from.

When I use coreaudio to get a device list, it sees only the Line Input and my USB iMic. Are you saying that in order for me to see a DV camera connected via Firewire , that I have to create a driver? I guess I thought that the OS came with drivers for these type of devices.
