OS X 10.2.4: System Preferences crashes when USB Audio device is unplugged

  • Subject: OS X 10.2.4: System Preferences crashes when USB Audio device is unplugged

Seems that with 10.2.4, when my USB Audio Device is unplugged, System
Preferences crashes if my device was the selected audio output device. Same
with iTunes.

Earlier OS X releases did a more graceful switch back to another available
audio device when my device was unplugged.

Has anyone else seen this problem and is there anything my IOAudioEngine
class can do to address this issue?

Thanks!
