You're correct that something like that is still missing from the AU
preset specification, even after the Dec Tools update. I'm sure that it
will come, though... The way I see it, the AU infrastructure does a good
job of leaving all of that stuff open to the hosts to handle in a
somewhat flexible, but still standardized, fashion. Like you say, the
ickzemllian format makes it easy to put arbitrary amounts of presets in
there, so it's just up to the host to provide the interface to add
presets, extract them, collect them, even compare them, etc...
