Does this happen with devices other than your own (like the built-in
hardware)?
If it does, I suspect that there is a problem with your control panel
app. If it doesn't, then there's something going on with your driver.
Either way, it's hard to say what might be going wrong without knowing
more about your app, your driver, and your device.
