Hi Bill
If I'm not misunderstanding you, that Panther AudioConverter will
happily convert mp3<->aiff or whatever-- Sounds great!
If this is the case, are the mp3 licensing implications known?
Last time I checked, Fraunhofer expects fairly stiff license fees from
any application that reads/writes MP3, regardless of the particular
codec or method used to do the conversion.
IOW, if a commercial application offers the feature to read or write an
MP3 via AudioConverter, will a Fraunhofer license still be required for
the application?
Thanks
James Chandler Jr.

Hi,
There were some plans to support compressed formats by
AudioConverter. Would it be ready in Panther?
Yes
