I might reinforce this - just because you mention a problem on this
list does NOT constitute any formal report. We do try to write issues
up, but its very easy to miss issues that can often be mentioned in an
email... We'll generally acknowledge to the poster (or list) that we've
got the issue in radar - but in lieu of that assuming that we have
understood/tracked/etc.. the issue is an unsafe assumption...

Bill is obviously a CoreAudio man while your bug is more in the

Also remember that email discussion lists are not a formal support
channel. Different engineering teams have different levels of
participation in their mailing lists, and it seems the CoreAudio
people are supporting developers to an uncommon degree, but that does
not mean they have a mandate to analyze discussion into a stream of
bug reports.
