iSight as an audio input source?

I've been trying to get the iSight to work as an audio input device in a
project i'm working on, but it seems to just hang my IOProc callback.
Anyone have any thoughts that might lead me in the right direction?
also it seems like you can't set the iSight to be the default input
source on the system, i get a message in console that it couldn't be set
as the dIn device...
