That's fine as long as no one else ever has to get code back from you! :)

Until such a day as everyone agrees on a single non-monospace font (ha!) as
_the_ standard for programming, using any monospace font simply avoids all
this nonsense, and using monospace isn't "the end of the world".

A better alternative would be a source editor that would interpret tabs in
such a way as to match positioning after whitespace to what would have been
produced with a monospace font and N spaces per tab (hopefully set to 4),
with an adjustable scale factor to customize interpretation when used with a
given non-monospace font. If you like this idea, maybe you can help me to
agitate for it. (Apologies for the OT.)

Lacking such a feature from any text editor (known to me) I just stick with
monospace, and wish everyone did.
