Component (AU) manufacturer IDs

  • Subject: Component (AU) manufacturer IDs
  • From: "Mikael Hillborg" <email@hidden>

Does Apple run a database for component (AU) manufacturer IDs?
If the answer is "yes", then which is the URL?
If the answer is "no", then who keeps track of the 4-char identifiers?
If noone does it, then why are these 4-char identifiers used?

:-)
Thanks
Mikael
