your app's dialog?
I was actually editing a user's feedback here. Yes, it is the app's
alert saying 'no MIDI devices found'. This alert comes up when CoreMIDI
reports 'MIDIGetNumberOfSources == 0'.
comes up and says my app is unable to find any Midi devices and the
USB Device is greyed out in AMS. This has only happeneds since adding
the MIDIRestart call.
What am I doing wrong?
Probably nothing. It sounds like a misbehaving MIDI driver (or
something undeneath a driver is misbehaving).
Does the same thing happen in AMS when the user clicks "Rescan MIDI"?
It simply calls MIDIRestart(). I suspect the same thing would happen
there too.
I do not know. I will check. I have 2 people reporting this problem.
One, James Chandler (also on this list), is having it happen with OSX
10.2.6, 15" Powerbook G4, MIDIMan 1X1 MidiSport, latest MIDIMan OSX
drivers.
It'd be good if you could collect details -- e.g. CPU, OS version,
MIDI interface, driver version -- and write a bug report. If the
problem seems specific to one manufacturer's devices, then I'd report
it to that manufacturer too.
I don't see anything like this with the hardware I test with regularly.
It does not happen for me either.
Thanks,
Jeremy
