Griffin iMic issue

  • Subject: Griffin iMic issue

For the past little while my Griffin iMic has been randomly freezing up and refusing to play any sound every day or two. At the end of the system message buffer I get:

USBF: 67714.666 AppleUSBOHCI[0x1ed8800] Watchdog detected dead controller (hcca #: 61171, hc #: 61721)

The only way to fix it is a reboot...unplugging and reconnecting the iMic makes no difference.

It only ever happens under iTunes 4, but that may be just a case of that is the app that spends the most time spitting out sound.

Anybody else seen or similar problem, or have I just got a dying iMic? Is there a way to reset the thing without rebooting?
