Could you please name the specific mLAN device you are using?
No 2 Apple Computer models implement FireWire the same. That makes it very
difficult to address a specific " quirk ".
The symptom you describe seems to be how your mLAN device establishes
communication on power up. It appears that it does nothing until the
FireWire cable is disconnected and reattached. That may not be a bug,
just a personality of your equipment.
Each piece of equipment seems to have its own way of waking up. I have been
very pleased with the function of our KSP8 mLAN option. The hardware is
working flawlessly. I would like to see more consistency in the DAW
Software. Currently, the only software that has worked properly is Logic
Platinum 5.5-6.0. I have not had the opportunity to beta test Nuendo 2.0 or
to use DP4 so I cannot comment on them.
