It is currently going through procedure for being adopted as part of the
official MIDI specifications. The specification is property of the MMMA and
AMEI. The MMA has approved it and is awaiting comments or adoption by the
AMEI. At this time it is only available to MMA & AMEI member companies. I
may be wrong, but it seems to me that MOTU jumped the gun by implementing it
before it is an approved specification. But this why you will have trouble
getting specs.
The specification will be released when it is official. Details on how to
get it should appear on the MMA web site after it has been officially
adopted.
