Hi Robert,
I've never used Photoshop Elements, but I've found at least part of the
problem with creating good graphics is just knowing how to do stuff
with the program (as you seemed to have perceived the possibility). You
might be able to find a good book on Elements. The "Wow" series books
are usually quite good. Some really nice visuals don't require fancy
tools.
Also, as a side possibility, I don't know how Elements compares to
Gimp, but maybe that might be a possibility if you don't want to pay
out the money for Photoshop.

Most of you guys are producing pretty attractive custom UIs for your
AUs and/or tools. What's the easiest approach/tools to designing these
and then cutting up the necessary bits for animation. The 3-Dness of
most smacks of something more than just Photoshop, but you guys aren't
all 3-D gurus too are you? :-)
I'm finding that Photoshop Elements isn't enough - or maybe I'm using
it incorrectly...
Thanks for any input.
Robert.
