What ever happened to PDF files and the hardware acclerated transforms on BezierCurves possible with Quartz?

If there is an accelerated vector-art architecture somewhere in the Cocoa/Quartz realm, I'd sure like to see more use of it, personally.

It always seems to me that a PDF-based GUI with accelerated transforms on PDF objects would be the best way to tackle the GUI problem for synthesis, but then, what do I know... we only make hardware. Seems silly, to me, to be emulating synthesizers all the way to the knobs, which I think are crap controls anyway.
