hm i dont see why you could do more in after effects compared to
photshop - if you create your own actions in photoshop for the knob thing
it is nearly the same workflow in PS. the only thing what is different in
AE
is that you can stack many plugins and save this configuration as preset.
when knobs do not come out of a 3d program i would generate the knob
positions by turning them vectorbased maybe .. there is an easy to use
illustrator plug in for that and i believe many people use that for turning
their knobs`n wheels or making games sprites.
one thought about cutting picts into pieces ... forget photoshop, use
graphic
converter. (crop egdes and export, in batch mode)
