That was exactly the thread I was looking for.
As for the InvalidFile and FileNotSpecified, I had though they might be
possible returns from kMusicDeviceProperty_SoundBankFSSpec, but I
couldn't get the DLSSynth to return them no matter what kind of bogus
values I sent to it yesterday.
