Hi Christopher,

I'm the engineer that wrote the Digi CoreAudio driver. I realize that it
has some issues--it has been a challenge to write a single-client
user-space driver that supports the default device.

If you'd like a more detailed explanation of the issues that we faced,
feel free to shoot me an email directly. I'd like to defend our
decisions, and explain why we have to load our HW (and incur a wait)
even if we are not the currently selected default device.

As for the STDOUT comment, your criticism is valid. It was included to
provide debugging info for our CS department. The "Deallocation of a
pointer not malloced" is not a string from our driver. It may be that
our driver is causing something else to print it, but it's not our
string.
