But then it would show up in both the mono and stereo submenus
(wouldn't it?). Robert said it only appeared twice in the stereo
submenu.

and of course COMP_TYPE 'aumu' for plugin and 'auvw' for the gui.
COMP_MANUF is the same.
in GETUIComponentDescs i use the gui description.
what i am missing ?
Possibly the most recent update for Logic? There was a bug just
like this
in an earlier version of Logic, but fixed since some time ago...
