btw: sorry if I ignored the fact that there is a midi server already. What I
was referring to is an app that you can talk to in a higher level language
like applescript. The Soundapp implementation, for example, had this simple
syntax:

tell application "Soundapp#" to send oms data X

whrere X was raw hex midi data.
