That's correct.

(As in the previous email about MP3 encoding), there's not a system
wide MP3 or AC3 encoder. However, to integrate this into the system
"all" you'd have to do is write/port one of these encoders to the Audio
Codec API. Then the Audio Converter would be able to see that encoder,
and would be able to work with it (as it does today with AAC or other
audio codec formats).
