What errors?
I did this to test an AU that i derived from SampleAU which had the
same results. Since none of the tests reported any errors i'm wondering
what is wrong.
Why does the test of the most simple case (SampleAU) fail?
It doesn't. The SampleAU as shipped in the Panther SDK passes the
validation tool. Earlier versions of the SampleAU from earlier SDK's
may not pass however. We're in the process of posting an updated SDK on
the web site and will have this available in the next few days.
Is the conclusion that there is something wrong with my derived AU
valid?
Its hard to tell as you need to look at the print out for it to tell
you what is wrong. There are some options in the validation tool to
have it stop executing when it finds an error, to generate a "quiet"
output (only prints errors/warnings), etc...
In the Read Me it describes just basic operations - but there is "-h"
option that gives you a full list of the commands you can pass to the
validation tool (inc. things like batch files, etc, so you can debug
with code warrior, have batch mode testing of a number of AU's, etc)
