There's a preference option in Logic for the auto-remapping CCs thing, but
also you need to actually instantiate your MusicEffect as an Audio
Instrument in order for it to receive (almost) unadultered MIDI, and then
route audio into it via a sidechain. Yes, it's very unintuitive and
backwards and roundabout (it's one of my least favorite things about
Logic), but this is the only way to do it, for now, hopefully they will
one day listen to my pleas and change it. :)
