What works in OpenAL 1.0?

  • Subject: What works in OpenAL 1.0?

I'm getting started with OpenAL and I've downloaded the latest installer from www.opeanal.org (version 1.0.12) and installed it. Unfortunately, this version seems to be very limited. The only thing that works is the volume attenuation based on distance in 3D space. But the panning doesn't seem to work, and I just get AL_INVALID_ENUM errors if I so much as even attempt to set a Doppler parameter.

So, can someone tell me if this is normal? Is OpenAL 1.0 just a basic sound playing thing right now? If so, I assume there will be a newer release soon with more things working?

Thanks,

-Brian
