[ You mean - change the hardware, right?
[ No, unfortunatly. I have to support this model "as-is", its already in the

[ The task is not including developing custom driver, I only need the

What company is producing this microphone, and what is the model number?
Your task may not include driver work, but someone, somewhere should fix the
problem so that this microphone works with all software, not just yours. After
installation and setup, the user will be able to assign the default system
input to something else, and they can also set the default output back to the
mic after your setup has "fixed" it. Unless you are developing a turnkey
system which only runs one program, you cannot fix the problem without someone
writing a driver.
[ Windows software (which is already exists) behave the same way
He, he. Windows users are accustomed to bizarre and unexplained hardware
failures. If you work for the company that makes this mic, you might find that
Mac OS X users are not going to accept an audio product that performs
incorrectly. It would be far better if your install/setup program copied a
small and simple driver to the system which disabled the non-functional output
so that no software would be able to see it.
