Not to belabor the point, but since your trying to implement decidedly
non-standard and potentially confusing behavior I might not be so rash
as to consider those reasons to be beyond the scope of the list.
You gave me lots of reasons why I should develop custom driver, but
lets get
back to the topic: How can I find build-in system output device?
You might be able to figure something out with the
kAudioDevicePropertyTransportType device property. But beware that the
user may not want or expect the built-in device to be their defaulted
device.
