I actually used a DTS ticket because I wanted to know the loop
AIFF extensions for a project I'm working on, which I hoped could
be used to export the loops ready-to-use, bypassing the loop
utility. DTS just said that the extensions weren't public (and
gave me my incident back). (Hope this doesn't violate NDA!!!)
I'd just second Robert's request - it would be awesome if Apple
would either make this information available, or provide an API
that would hide the details but still allow Mac developers to leverage
the technology (both to play loops and create them).
For creating loops this can already kludgily be accomplished
with Loop Utility and AppleScript, but it would be much simpler
for the user if we just had a loop utility framework.
Thanks!

Here's a question in which I'm sure a lot of people here are
interested: When will Apple release a dev SDK so we can use Apple
Loops in our own apps? It seems it would be lovely to be able to load
some loops into a LoopTrack in the MusicSequencer and point it at a
mixer eh?
:-)
Robert.
