Agreed. This is not MIDI, but something that looks a bit like MIDI. In
which case the TC Helicon product is broken, and they simply aren't
bothered about fixing (or developing in the first place) a
standards-compliant product. Looks like they won't be selling any units
to Mac owners then, or anyone with MIDI processing units between their PC
and their VoiceOne such as a MIDI filer/filter/router/merger/etc.

So, I think Doug is right on the ball.
1) The update file is not MIDI compatible,
2) It would seem that Windows' implementation of MIDI allows for arbitrary
data to be handled.
3) TC Helicon do not adhere to the MIDI standard (why couldn't they use
MIDI File Dump instead?)
*sigh*
It saddens me that even for a protocol as simple as MIDI, some people just
don't bother sticking to the standard.
(Note: I think this heading a bit OT now :-)
