Jai,
I know its not Mac, but check out the book "Maximum Midi". It presents a
class library (src available online) for the win32 platform. But it should
give you some ideas for how to structure an OOP program related to
sequencing.
http://www.maxmidi.com/
There is a related web forum here. Some of the older posts are by the
original author of the book who seems to have dissappeared now:
http://www.manning-sandbox.com/forum.jspa?forumID=47&start=0
The publisher has chapter overviews and samples and a link to download the
entire source code that normally comes on the CDROM with the book here:
http://www.manning.com/catalog/view.php?book=messick
There used to be another download site that had updates to the CDROM that
came with the book plus some user samples. It says the book no longer
includes the CDROM, so you can only get it online now I guess. I can't find
that ftp site now. Anyway, since you're only looking for a sample of OOP
techniques for a midi sequencer...the download on that site and the book
will give you all you need to know to implement something in CoreMidi.
I highly recommend this book as an overview on how to architect a midi
sequencer in OOP. At least as a start.
I have an idea that I want to create some similar class library around
CoreMidi...and that will go way beyond what PYMidi currently does.
cheers

Seems like it's worth a shot.
