per-app AudioUnit loading preferences

  • Subject: per-app AudioUnit loading preferences

Several of my users have requested that they be able to control
which AudioUnits are loaded into Numerology vs. other apps.
I have also found for myself that in some cases (FinalCut, esp.) I don't want
*any* non-Apple AU's loaded, whereas in others (DigitalPerformer)
I want some, but not all.

Can anyone on the CoreAudio team say if this is a possible addition
to the CoreAudio feature set, or should I pursue this option on my
own? I'd much prefer to stick with a standard solution.....

Thanks,
Jim
