I'm basing my code on the SampleEffect sample code that comes with the
CA SDK.
I've just compiled the sample and loaded it and my plug-in up in Logic
6.4.3.
Logic shows a preset menu for the SampleEffect, so you're right, it
does support presets.
However it doesn't show a preset menu for my plug-in. In the equivalent
place though is the 'Editor/Controls' menu. I wonder if Logic just
doesn't show a preset menu for plugs with a custom GUI?
I can't think that my code is wrong - it's exactly like that in
SampleEffect, and very simple.
cheers,
os.

You must be doing something wrong. Most AU hosts support
FactoryPresets, including all of the ones that you listed.

I was just adding preset support to a new plug-in
(AUBase::GetPresets() etc.), and I noticed how few hosts actually
support this feature.
As far as I can tell, presets are supported by Rax, and, er, that's
it. Not Logic, not DP...
Am I doing something wrong, or is this the real state of affairs?
If this is right, what is the suggested way of getting presets to
users of these hosts?
cheers,
os.
