Hi Stefan,
how about multi-bus AUs? Would they work in Logic 6.3.x, 6.4.x and 7?
How can the bus-count be made writeable?
If I use {0, 8} I get an error message in the validation tool, telling
me that the default format (2ch) does differ from the supplied format
(8ch). How do I override the default format? Any examples or
explanation which methods/properties to implement to make it work?

Yes. Logic 7 does handle AUs with flexible bus count properly.
If you look into supporting something like {0,-16}, this would make it
show up.
Logic would initialize your AU to 8 stereo busses then.
