Logic uses this property. It is polled after loading your AU.

Logic also install a listener for tracking changes of this property
at runtime. However, the latency compensation is not updated
during playback because that would mess up timing. It is required
to stop and start the playback before Logic has compensated for
the new timing. Please let me know if this doesn't work for your AU.
