audio to Final Cut Pro

Hi,

I tried to search the mail list for this topic but you can't search it anymore.
Hope this isn't a repeat question.

Suppose I have isochronous video/audio packets coming in over firewire from my device.
I want to pass the data to Final Cut Pro for capture (and out of Final Cut Pro for playback).
How exactly can I get the audio to and from Final Cut Pro?

I have a Quicktime component which grabs the data off of firewire via a firewire device interface, and separates
the audio from the video, frame by frame.
I can get the video to FCP.
But for the audio, do I need to write a kernel driver or can I use the audio HAL to get the data to FCP?

Are there any relevant examples...

Thanks a lot,
Tommy Schell
