Thanks to everyone who made comments and suggestions. Version 1.0.1 of AUval Helper is now posted at http://homepage.mac.com/ssteve/auvalhelper/

Changes: - Made “/usr/bin/auval” the default path to the executable. - Correctly handled the case where the path to the auval executable is a symlink. - Double-clicking an Audio Unit runs auval on just that one AU.
