I'm running 10.3.9 on all machines. And I think your correct: the blue G4 is 400 MHz, not 300Mhz as I has said in my last posting. In any case, "blue" doesn't skip and my 1.2 GHz mini does, running the same OS. Humm.

and carefully watched: no pageouts (or pageins, for that matter) when iTunes was skipping.

What OS does your 300 MHz blue G4 have? (Actually, if it's blue and 300 MHz, wouldn't it be a G3? I think my old G4 350 MHz was the first one to come out. Like you, I don't get any iT stutters on that one--only on my new 17" PB 1.67 GHz.) What about your Mini?
