Restarting MIDIServer?

hi all,

i have a situation where i need to restart MIDIServer (or at least, get it to re-load its driver .plugins) after a USB-based update is done to one of our MIDI devices .. my question is, should I just be using AuthorizationServics to do this ('kill -HUP MIDIServer'), or is there a nicer, more "CoreAUDIO" way of getting MIDIServer to restart/reload/reset itself?
