OpenAL is on top of CoreAudio - its using audio units, audio
converters, the HAL to do all of its rendering.

Hello.
Right now, we are using OpenAL to handle the audio in our product.
Our problem was that we needed to have a lot of compression on the
audio files, so using ogg/vorbis to handle it sounded really good.
But, what ended up happening was we didn't want to have to have
users install some libraries (That require admin rights to
install) with their software to make it run. So, we started
looking into other ways of supporting audio. Then we looked back on
the ogg/vorbis site and it turns out we were using old libraries
instead of the framework you can use now. So, we don't have to
change our audio to anything. Now we just have to include those
frameworks in our app bundle instead of using those libraries. *whew*
Thanks,
