Hi Stephen,
The ASBD format and flags for what in SoundMgr-land would have been
8-bit 'raw ', is as follows (it's an unsigned integer, 0..255, with 128
being silence):
mFormatID = 'lpcm'
mFormatFlags has kAudioFormatFlagIsFloat NOT set,
kAudioFormatFlagIsSignedInteger NOT set

What is the proper representation of k8BitOffsetBinaryFormat in an
ASBD? To be honest, I can't remember if k8BitOffsetBinaryFormat is
effectively signed bytes +127/-128 or something stranger. A quick web
search didn't turn up anything useful.
Mainly, I'm just wondering if the format id should be 'lpcm' or 'raw '.
thanks,
stephen
