I have been using SysEx Librarian to send and receive
synth patch dumps, without problems. Talking KBytes of
data here. I've been using 10.x (currently on Panther)
and MidiSport 4x4.

Also my own application is able to generate a constant
stream of sysex bytes using CoreMidi, and I have not
noticed any drop-outs.
