Hi,

Is this possible? has anyone done it yet? - that is made an AU plugin that
generates midi data as part of its output.

such a device would be extremely handly for making algorithmically
generated midi data which could easily be fed into virtual instruments
(using something like Logic). What I'd love to be able to do it control
the plugin parameters with automation data or midi in and then feed the
plugin generated midi data into other virtual instruments. is this
possible? it's something I've wanted to do for years. If I need to write
my own plugin are there any specific tricks I need to know about to get
this functionality?

cheers!
Joe
